Auto-renewing a travel data plan

What is auto-renewal?

When purchasing a travel data plan, you can choose to turn on auto-renewal. This means your travel data plan is automatically renewed if you run out of data. If you have auto-renewal turned on and you have some unused data left when your plan reaches its expiration date, your plan won't auto-renew.

Your plan can auto-renew for a maximum period of 90 days. After 90 days, we'll automatically disable auto-renewal. If you have notifications enabled on your device, you'll receive a notification when auto-renewal ends.

Your plan can auto-renew a maximum of 4 times. After this, we’ll automatically disable auto-renewal. If you have notifications enabled on your device, you'll receive a notification when auto-renewal ends.

How to set up and stop auto-renewal

In the Revolut app:

  • Go to ‘RevPoints’ on the bottom menu and go to eSIM
  • Get a new plan and turn on ‘Auto-renew data plan’ from the checkout screen
  • To turn off auto-renewal at any time, select one of your active plans and turn off ‘Auto-renew data plan’

Can my RevPoints be used for auto-renewal?

You can't use RevPoints for auto-renewal, even if you used them to purchase a travel data plan originally. Payment for renewals will always be debited from your local currency wallet.

What happens when I run out of data?

If you have notifications enabled on your device, you'll get a notification when you've used 80% of your data. We'll also let you know when your data has run out completely and your plan auto-renews.

If you don't have enough balance in your local currency wallet to pay for the cost of the data plan, it won't be renewed and auto-renewal will be disabled.
