Switch your account to Revolut

Our Switch Service helps you easily switch your bank account to Revolut while ensuring your payments continue smoothly.

This service automatically routes incoming payments and Direct Debits from your old bank account to your Revolut account.

Participating banks will notify anyone sending payment to you, and Direct Debit collectors, of your new account details so you don’t need to worry about updating your details. However, payments and Direct Debits will only be forwarded to your new Revolut account for the first 13 months.

What payments are eligible?

  • Incoming payments (e.g. salary, benefits) via local EUR transfers
  • Direct Debits

We’ll seamlessly redirect your direct debits for 13 months. Up until the day before your redirection period starts, direct debits will continue to be collected from your old account. After the start date, all direct debits will be collected from your new Revolut account.

You may need to transfer some credits yourself if they arrived in your old account. This includes interest you've earned, payments received in a different currency from EUR, funds from a foreign currency account, amounts sent to your debit card, or any remaining balances in your old account.

What happens to my payments if I close my old bank account?

If you decide to keep it open, payments will stop being redirected to Revolut at the end of the 13-month period. However, you can extend this by submitting a new switch request.

If you decide to close your old account, local transfers will be redirected for the 13-month period. After this period ends, transfers to the old account will no longer be possible, and direct debit collectors will be notified that the IBAN is inactive.
