What is the Depositor Compensation Scheme (DCS)?

The Depositor Compensation Scheme (DCS) is a New Zealand Government scheme that helps protect your money in the unlikely event that a deposit taker fails.

The DCS protects eligible deposits held in New Zealand dollars (NZD) up to NZ$100,000. Coverage is automatic if your money is held in a DCS-protected account. Money held in foreign currency (non-NZD) accounts and cryptocurrency and commodities balances are not protected by the DCS.
