Why was my top-up reverted?

Technical issues

Temporary issues with Revolut's or the card issuer's system may cause a card deposit to appear as pending for a prolonged time, and then get reverted. If that happens, tap the deposit in your transactions list for more information and help.

Your bank disputed the charge

When you add money to your Revolut account using an external card, sometimes the bank may reverse the transaction. This is known as a top-up chargeback.

If your bank issues a top-up chargeback, the funds will be temporarily deducted from your Revolut account and placed on hold while the transaction is disputed.

Here's what can happen next:

  • If the bank you transferred money from wins the dispute, your account with them will be refunded the amount of the deposit
  • If they lose the dispute, the deposit in your Revolut account will be unblocked

For detailed information, reasoning, and updates on your dispute, contact your bank.
