Accepted proof of address documents
We accept a variety of documents to verify your residential address. All documents must meet the criteria outlined in this FAQ in our Help Centre.
We accept the New Zealand driving licence with your address, among other documents.
Bank or credit card statements
We accept bank or credit card statements and bank account confirmations issued by a New Zealand registered bank within the last 9 months.
Government letters
We accept letters issued in the last 3 months by New Zealand government departments or agencies. Examples include the:
- Inland Revenue Department (IRD)
- Police
- Department of Justice
- Electoral Commission
- Transport Agency
Utility bills
The address must be the service or billing address (not the postal address if different from the service address).
We accept the following utility bill types issued within the last 6 months by New Zealand service providers:
- Council rates notices
- Water bills
- Electricity or gas bills
- Telephone, mobile, or internet provider bills
