Fraud and cybercrime reporting to national authorities

If you have been a victim of fraud, your first step should always be to submit a fraud report. Afterwards, use the guidance below to report the incident to the appropriate national authorities.

New Zealand

  • Report online incidents including scams and fraud via the Netsafe online reporting tool at netsafe.org.nz/report/
  • Contact the police via the non-emergency number 105 or use the online reporting portal at police.govt.nz/use-105
  • Report cybersecurity threats and incidents to CERT NZ at cert.govt.nz
  • Report investment-related scams to the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) at fma.govt.nz/scams/report-a-scam/
