How does Revolut keep my money safe?

How Revolut safeguards your money varies depending on ‌the Revolut entity you’re registered to. To find out ‌which Revolut entity you're registered to:

  1. Click on the 'Profile' icon (top left of the Home screen) in-app
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
  3. Find the name of the Revolut branch you’re registered to at the very bottom of the page

If you're registered with the Revolut Payments New Zealand entity:

Whenever money is added to your account, we hold that money on bare trust for you as the ultimate beneficial owner in a segregated account held with a New Zealand registered bank (a Trust Account).

Under this trust arrangement, we hold the legal interest in those funds, and you hold the beneficial interest. We may only apply the funds in accordance with these terms, or as otherwise directed by you.

If Revolut becomes insolvent, or otherwise defaults on its payment obligations, you'll retain your interest in any funds in your accounts and these funds will be protected from the claims of general creditors.

See the Revolut Payments New Zealand Pty Ltd Personal Terms for more information.

All your card transactions are processed by the Visa network and are protected by Visa rules.
