Why was my transfer returned?

There are several reasons a transfer may have bounced back or reverted. To find out why a transfer was unsuccessful, click on the transfer in your Transactions list and look at its info panel.

The most common reasons for returned transfers are:

  • Account is closed 
  • Incorrect details were used
  • The money wasn’t accepted
  • There was a processing issue with the receiving bank

The transfer should return to your account within 5 business days for local transfers and usually up to 20 business days for international transfers. However, it can take more time in some cases.
