Setting up a joint account
A joint account is a shared account between two Revolut customers. It’s not just for partners and spouses — friends, family, and housemates can open an account to simplify expense sharing. Both account holders can add, withdraw, manage, and spend money in the joint account.
Requirements for opening a joint account
- You're at least 18 years old
- You have a personal Revolut account and have passed our identity verification checks
- You live in the same country as your co-holder
- You both belong to the same Revolut entity, for example, Revolut Bank UAB
- You don't have another Revolut joint account or a pending invite for one

Open a joint account in-app
- Go to 'Home' on the bottom menu
- Below your balance, tap 'Accounts' and 'Add new'
- Select 'Joint' and follow the instructions
The other applicant needs to accept your invitation.
Paid plans and joint accounts
- Each account holder has their own usage limits based on their Revolut plan
- Joint account fees are deducted from the joint account only
- If one of the joint account holders has a Metal or Ultra plan, any eligible card payments made with your joint account card will earn cashback. This will be credited to your individual cashback Pocket
- Insurance benefits don't apply to joint account activity
- Savings can't be opened on joint accounts
