Change my address
Moving within supported countries
If you move to a country that uses the same Revolut entity as your current one, you can update your address directly in the app:
- Tap your profile picture or initials in the top-left corner of the home screen
- Select 'Account', then 'Personal details'
- Tap 'Residential address' to edit it
Once verified, your new address will appear on your account documents.
Relocating across entities, branches, data infrastructures
If you move to a location that operates under a different legal entity, branch, or separate data infrastructure, a direct automated profile update isn't supported. This is due to how our systems currently work, not a requirement to close your account.
To comply with local licensing requirements and maintain account data isolation, you'll need to close your actual account and open a new account under your new country of residence. Your account profile must accurately reflect your primary legal country of residence. How to complete the transition:
- Tap your profile picture or initials
- Select 'Account', then 'Close account'
- Follow the prompts to clear active balances, settle pending transactions, and terminate active sub-products
- Once completed, re-apply for a new account using your updated residential details in your new country
Transferring your funds if you need to close the account
Direct transfers between your old and new Revolut accounts are not possible. Withdraw your entire balance to an alternative bank account in your name before closing this account to open your new one.
Additional information
If you live abroad temporarily (for example, studying, travelling, or short work trips), you don't need to change your registered country or close your account. Your actual account remains fully operational during these stays.
Permanent moves across borders mean different products, features, and protections, which vary by local jurisdiction. Certain country corridors operate on separate technical infrastructure environments, requiring account termination and a fresh sign-up process to ensure proper data security.
We are actively developing long-term solutions to make permanent cross-border moves smoother. These system enhancements will be introduced gradually over time, and we cannot provide specific release timelines yet.
