Revolut <18 cards
Order a <18 card
In the main Revolut app:
- Go to 'Home' on the bottom menu
- Tap the card icon in top-right corner
- Tap Add new
- Select 'Kids' at the top
- Choose an existing <18 account or create a new one
- Follow the prompts to complete your order
If you ordered a card but haven't received it within the specified timeframe, contact our support team for further assistance. Virtual cards aren't available to <18 customers.
Activate the <18 card
Your kid needs to make a chip and PIN transaction in a shop or at an ATM. This will automatically activate the card. If your kid has entered their PIN incorrectly 3 times and has been locked out of their account, you can unblock their PIN/CVV from your Revolut app:
- Go to 'Home' on the bottom menu
- Below your balance, tap Accounts
- Choose your kid's <18 account
- Tap their card and select 'Settings'
- Tap 'Unblock PIN/CVV'
If your kid can't remember their PIN, you can view it from the <18 account's settings in your own Revolut app.
Spending abroad
Card payments abroad are available, even though Revolut <18 account holders can't hold foreign currency balances. We'll perform any necessary currency exchanges during a transaction.
If plan limits are exceeded, charges for currency exchange and ATM withdrawals may apply.
Limitations
We block merchant categories which generally aren't age-appropriate for children, such as alcohol, cigarettes, and gambling. We rely on the merchant's registered business type (also known as an MCC code), not the actual details of what is being bought with a <18 card.
Our contactless limit may differ depending on your region. If your transaction has been declined due to this limit, you simply need to make a chip and PIN payment to reset it. For more details, read our Revolut <18 T&Cs.
A kid can hold only two physical cards at the same time. After reaching card limits, there is a cooldown period, meaning you must wait 30 days from the last card creation date before you can create a new one.
