Trading value limits

Minimum order value

The minimum order value is $1 for US stocks and ETFs and €1 for EU stocks and ETFs.

Maximum order limit

Buy orders

You can place an order up to a maximum $100,000/€100,000 for stocks, ETFs and bonds, or up to 50,000 shares in the case of stocks if they're worth less than $100,000/€100,000 in value at any one time.

Sell orders

You can place sell orders up to a maximum of $1,500,000/€1,500,000 or up to 50,000 shares if they’re worth less than $1,500,000/€1,500,000 in value at any one time.

For example, you can buy $100,000 worth of a stock and then immediately buy another $100,000 worth of the same stock. However, if the $100,000 is for less than 50,000 shares each time, you can't buy $101,000 worth of stock, unless you’re subscribed to Trading Pro, which offers higher order limits.

These limits can be bypassed in the case of closing out a position (selling 100% of a stock), up to a hard limit set by the broker of $1,500,000/€1,500,000 or 50,000 shares. To learn more about closing a stock position, go to this FAQ.

If you have Trading Pro

With our Trading Pro add-on, your order limit is increased up to $1,500,000 on US stocks or €1,500,000 on EU stocks, or up to a maximum of 50,000 shares if they're worth less than $1,500,000 on US stocks or €1,500,000 for EU stocks and ETFs.
