Troubleshooting integration with Revolut Terminal
You might have trouble integrating your software application with Revolut Terminal for several reasons. Refer to the set up guide for a detailed overview.
Issues with location
A location links Merchant API orders to your physical Revolut Terminal.
To make the Revolut Terminal discoverable via the API, set its location and turn on Pay at Counter mode. To set the location, go to 'More' and select location under business name. To turn on Pay at Counter mode, go to 'More' and select 'Checkout', then select 'Enable Pay at Counter'.
- Use the Create a location endpoint to register a new physical location
- Employ the Retrieve location list endpoint to get their IDs
- Always make sure that your create or retrieve location payload uses "type": "physical".
Difficulty with orders and payments
For order creation and payments to succeed:
- Make sure your payload includes the correct 'location_id'
- Set 'channel': 'pos'
- Specify the amount as an integer in minor units (e.g., 1000 for £10.00 GBP)
- Make sure to set 'capture_mode': 'manual'
- Assign 'fulfilment_type' as 'take_away'
- Provide your POS software name in 'metadata.pos_partner_name'
Failed or canceled payments usually indicate an issue with your API request payload. Verify that your request is configured for in-person payments (not online or payment link transactions) and that all required fields are included.
