What are the requirements for directors and beneficial owners?

To open a Revolut Business account, we need to confirm the details of the directors and shareholders of your company. This policy is in line with a regulatory requirement commonly known as 'Know Your Customer’ (KYC), which is the process of a business verifying the identity of its clients.

We're only verifying identities of major shareholders in the company through ownership stake, voting rights, or any other means of direct/indirect control. You can invite them to submit their ID check themselves or upload the information and (if applicable) documents on their behalf.

As a minimum, we'll require the following details:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth (over 18 years old)
  • Residential address (at least one director/beneficial owner must reside in the EEA or Switzerland)
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Nationality

In certain cases, we may also require:

  • National ID
  • Passport
  • Selfie
  • Document proving person's right to reside in a region

The documents which we can accept, are outlined for you in our application form during the sign-up process. We'll review your application within 24 hours. In some situations, we may ask for additional documents.

The different requirements we’ll need you to fulfil, or help us with, will be outlined in the application menu. These requirements are in place to make sure we remain compliant with any relevant regulatory requirements.
