What if I'm rejected for a Basic account?
You'll need to meet the full eligibility criteria to apply for a Basic account or your application will be rejected. If you don’t meet these criteria, a Standard account might be right for you. You can get started using this link.
If you'd like to challenge the decision, you may submit a complaint with the Bank of Portugal — this service is free of charge. You can submit the form electronically or post it to Banco de Portugal, Rua do Comércio, 148, 1100-150, Lisboa.
Escalating your complaint externally
You can also submit your complaint using this e-platform or refer your complaint to one of the ADR bodies in Portugal to which Revolut has adhered:
- Consumer Conflicts Arbitration Centre of Lisbon
- Consumer Information and Arbitration Centre of Porto
These entities for alternative resolution of consumer disputes are part of the Rede de Arbitragem de Consumo (Consumer Conflicts Arbitration Network). The list and contacts of these entities are disclosed by the Direção-Geral do Consumidor on the Consumer Website (Direção-Geral Consumidor).
