Who can open a Basic account?

  • An individual who has no other current account
  • An individual who has other current accounts may be a co-holder on the Basic account with a person over the age of 65, or with a permanent disability level of 60% or more, who doesn't have other accounts
  • An individual that is already a co-holder of a Basic account with a person over the age of 65, or with a permanent disability level of 60% or more, may access a Basic account individually if they don’t have other current accounts
  • A customer who's been notified that their current account will be closed may request to open a Basic account
