How do I close my account?

We're sorry to see you go. Before you start the process, know that you have the right to close your account free of charge and without reason within the first 14 days of opening it.

Even if you are outside of this initial 14-day period, the standard closure process below applies.

Closing your account after 14 days

After the initial 14 days, you have two options for closing your account. The time it takes depends on whether you prepare the account for closure first.

If you complete all the steps below before requesting the closure in the app, your account will be closed immediately.

Preparing your account for closure

To prepare your account for immediate closure:

  • Bring all your currency accounts and Pockets to a zero balance
  • Downgrade to a Standard account
  • Close any accounts (e.g. investment, crypto) and sub-accounts (e.g. <18)
  • Ensure you have no active insurance policies, subscriptions, or open chargeback requests
  • Settle any outstanding credit obligations

If you request to close your account without completing the steps above, we'll work to close all your products and clear your balances for you. This process can take up to one month. Your account will remain active during this period, but we recommend you stop using it to ensure a smooth process.

How to start the closure process in the app

  • Tap your profile icon in the top-left corner
  • Select 'Account'
  • Tap 'Close account' and follow the instructions

The app will guide you through any remaining accounts or Pockets you need to close or funds you need to move. Remember to download any statements you may need for future reference before your account is permanently closed.
