Getting an updated Revolut Romanian IBAN
At Revolut, we've launched our Romanian (RO) branch, and businesses incorporated in Romania will now have their Business accounts migrated to this branch and receive an updated RO IBAN.
Once migrated, simply share your new RO IBAN with your customers, partners, suppliers, vendors etc. to make sure all of your future payments work smoothly. Our Romanian Branch Terms will apply from the date you're fully migrated, and we'll notify you via email once your account has been migrated.
Eligibility criteria and migration process
To have your Business account migrated to the Romanian branch, your business must be incorporated in Romania, and you'll need to provide additional documentation about your business.
We'll migrate customers gradually and notify you by email that your account is going to be migrated. Migrated customers will automatically receive a Romanian IBAN (RO IBAN) from Revolut.
For customers who are not migrated by 14th December, a Romanian IBAN will still be issued, with their migration to follow at a later date. Make sure to share your new IBAN details with everyone who sends you funds to avoid any payment issues.
Changes to old local IBAN
On 14 December, the old Romanian local IBAN will be deactivated for all customers for outbound transfers. To ease this transition, incoming payments sent to your old IBAN will be redirected to you until 31 December 2024.
After this date, your old IBAN will be fully deactivated, and payments sent to it will be returned to the sender. Refunds typically take 3–5 business days to process. Once you receive your new IBAN, you'll be able to use it for any new recurring payments.
