Setting up a joint account

A joint account is a shared account between two Revolut customers. It’s not just for partners and spouses — friends, family, and housemates can open an account to simplify expense sharing. Both account holders can add, withdraw, manage, and spend money in the joint account.

Requirements for opening a joint account

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a personal Revolut account and have passed our identity verification checks
  • Live in the same country as the person you’re opening the account with
  • Both belong to the same Revolut entity. For example, Revolut Bank UAB. To check your Revolut entity, tap your profile icon in the top-left corner and scroll to the bottom of the page
  • Not have another Revolut joint account, or a pending invite for one
  • Already have the person you want to open the account with in your contacts. If not, send a small amount of money to their Revolut account to make them a contact before you try to open a joint account together. To read more about sending money to other Revolut customers, check this FAQ
