How do I close my Investment account?

You can close your Investment account by opening the Revolut app → going to the 'Invest' section → select 'More' on the right side of the screen → tap 'Settings' → select 'Close Stocks account'.

You'll then need to review and agree to the Investment account Closure terms displayed on the screen. By doing so, you consent to the closure of your Investment account (and sale of shares if you have any) with Revolut.

As selling assets may trigger capital gains or losses, you should carefully consider the potential tax consequences of closing your investment account. Revolut doesn't advise on tax-related matters.

You can choose to close your positions yourself before initiating the Investment account closure process. Otherwise, Revolut will sell your assets on your behalf.

The account is closed in 4 steps:

  1. After you send us a request to close your account, your assets will be sold. After the sale of the shares, a settlement process will follow, lasting 1 trading day for US securities or 2 trading days for non-US securities
  2. As soon as the funds are settled, they will be transferred to your Revolut USD or EUR current account accordingly
  3. Remaining balance from your Investment account will be transferred to your Revolut USD (for US securities) or EUR (for EU securities) current account accordingly. Please visit the Accounts page on your app and select USD or EUR to check your balance
  4. Once your Investment account is at $0, it will be closed
