Provide source of wealth
If we need additional information about the source of wealth (SOW), or income of the shareholders of your business, you'll see a tile on your 'Home' screen. Click it to check what we have requested from you, the current status of the request, and the time remaining to provide information.
Providing this information helps us keep your account up to date. Failing to provide this information may result in your account being limited (or potentially closed) as per our T&Cs.
Guidelines for supported documents
The documents you need to provide will vary depending on the source of your wealth. See some examples below of acceptable documents for each income category.
Employment income (salary, bonus, pension, freelancer, or self-employed):
- Tax Return statement or Tax Declaration
- Recent payslip(s) or pension slip(s) with date within the last 12 months
- Bank transfer confirming the receipt of income, clearly showing the employer's name in the 'Sender' or 'Description' field
- Letter from employer confirming salary
- Work contract — dated and signed by employer and employee — stating the duration of employment, the salary and/or additional benefits
In case of self-employment, at least one of the following documents:
- Invoices dated within the last 12 months, clearly showing your full name, address, and VAT number
- Contracts for services provided as a freelancer, dated and signed by both parties, stating the duration of the agreement, payment terms and/or additional benefits
Investment income (interest, dividends, rent):
- Dividends statement, certificate, or voucher clearly showing the amount, the client's position (must be shareholder or director)
- Bank statement reflecting credit of amount from a particular source
Sale of financial assets (stocks, bonds, collectives, crypto assets, company sales):
- Statement from investment manager or provider
- Investment certificate or portfolio confirming the sale of shares and withdrawal of money
- Tax declaration
Sale of property (sale of residential or commercial property or portfolio of properties):
- Signed letter from solicitor
- Copy of contract of sale
- Tax declaration
- Real Estate Title Deed, showing the transfer from previous owner to new owner, amount and date
- Signed letter from estate agent
Inheritance (will, trusts, etc.):
- Grant of probate (with a copy of the will), which must include the value of the estate and bank statement showing the receipt of the funds and current balance of the account
Legal settlement (divorce proceeds or proceeds arising from litigation):
- Court order and written confirmation of settlement signed by advocate or solicitor, as well as a bank statement clearly showing receipt of funds and current account balance
Gifts (gifts from family or friends):
- Proof of transfer from the donor as well as the full name of the donor and relationship to the beneficiary
Gaming wins (poker, lottery wins, etc.):
- Statement of deposit or win or withdrawal from gambling platform and corresponding bank statement (if the transfer isn't directly to Revolut)
- Evidence of the wins and withdrawals from the used platforms or the organised tournaments for the specified timespan and corresponding bank statement clearly showing receipt of funds and current account balance
In circumstances where funds are transferred to an external account before reaching your Revolut account, an intermediary financial statement may be required.
Your details
When providing source of wealth, make sure that:
- Your name on the document matches the name on your Revolut account
- You're providing accurate and up-to-date information regarding your business transactions or source of income
- All contracts are signed and dated, with any address and name details visible
- The amounts on the documents are fully visible
Tips for uploading documents
- Update your app to the latest version
- Make sure all documents are clear and readable. Documents that are covered up or cut out of the frame won't be accepted
- Upload PDFs or photos of physical documents. Screenshots are not accepted
