Revolut eSIM

eSIM allows you to activate a travel data plan in a specific country from a network provider without having to use a physical SIM card. You can buy a travel data plan anytime before or during your trip. Your plan activates as soon as you complete your purchase and install your eSIM.

Your eSIM is provided by our partner 1Global. Revolut Ltd is an agent of 1Global. When you purchase an eSIM through the Revolut app, the fee is payable to the partner.

The Revolut entity that you hold an account with will provide you with the underlying payment services. As a Revolut customer, you have rights and obligations under the Personal Terms and any account-specific terms that apply to your Revolut payment account in relation to these payment services.

Purchase eSIM

  • Go to 'Lifestyle' on the bottom menu
  • Tap eSIM
  • Tap 'Get data plan'
  • Select a coverage — 'Local' if you want one country, 'Regional', or 'Global' for multiple countries
  • Select the amount of data you need
  • Continue to checkout and purchase your data plan (prices vary per plan and plan duration)

The eSIM’s validity period starts from the date of purchase, or when your eSIM is ready to be installed if it’s your first purchase. To request a refund, contact us via our in-app chat. You can have up to 15 eSIMs, but only one can be used at a time.

eSIMs appear on the eSIM page in-app, with the most local one taking priority. New eSIMs for the same area activate after the current eSIM expires. When an eSIM runs out of data, it moves to Expired eSIMs, and the app switches to the next one automatically.

Available countries

To see available countries regionally and globally in-app:

  • Go to 'Lifestyle' on the bottom menu
  • Tap eSIM
  • Tap 'Get eSIM'
  • Select 'Global'
  • Tap 'Global' again to see the full list of available countries

Can I make calls or send texts with an eSIM?

Your eSIM includes data only.

Voice calls and Short Message Service (SMS) messages are not supported, but you can use any messaging or call platform that uses data with your eSIM — for example, WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger.
