Can I pay in a specific currency?
To assign a specific currency or cryptocurrency to your card:
- Go to your Cards section in-app by tapping the card icon in the top right
- Select a card, and tap Spend from in settings
- Choose a single currency or ‘all main accounts’ (recommended) to spend from
👉 If you don’t have enough money in the assigned currency, the payment will get declined even if you have enough in another currency.
👉 Currency assignment is card-specific, so you should repeat the process for each card to change currencies.
Unfortunately, you can't choose to pay using a specific currency, but you can prevent specific currency accounts from being charged. To do so, you can either maintain a low balance in that currency, or disable the currency pocket entirely. Do this in-app by swiping left on the currency account, then hitting 'hide'.
👉 Deactivated accounts can't be charged, and you can reactivate them any time you want.
Your home currency can't be deactivated. As a workaround, you can empty out this account by adding the current balance into a Savings account. Remember, no money will be taken from your savings to complete payments or transfers.
