Sending and requesting money with a payment link

Payment links are a secure way to send or receive money without sharing personal information or account details.

They can also be used to send money to a card, bank account, or Revolut account, and to request money from a card, external bank account, or a Revolut account.

How to create a payment link

In the Revolut app:

  • Go to 'Payments' on the bottom menu
  • Tap 'New' (the + sign) in the top-right corner
  • Tap 'Create a payment link'
  • Select 'Send money' or 'Request money'
  • Set the amount to send or request

When you send money, the recipient will have 7 days to accept your payment. If unclaimed, the money will automatically be returned to your account. When you request money, the sender will have 10 days to complete your request and then the link will expire.

Limits for sending money with a payment link

There are no limits to sending money via payment links.

Limits for requesting money with a payment link

You can receive a maximum of £250 per week (or the equivalent in other currencies) via card payments. To request money from non-Revolut customers, Revtag discoverability should be enabled in-app while sharing the payment link. To enable it, in the Revolut app:

  • Tap your profile icon in the top-left corner
  • Select 'Accounts' and 'Privacy'
  • Tap 'Make me discoverable' and choose 'Revtag'
