Activate a new card

Before activating your physical card

  • You must be the cardholder to activate a card
  • You can't activate a card for someone else
  • You must have already verified your identity

How to activate your card

  • Go 'Cards'
  • Select the card you want to activate
  • Select 'Activate now'
  • Enter your 16-digit card number

You can also activate your card by making a chip and PIN transaction with your new card or by withdrawing cash from an ATM using the card

For safety reasons, only activate your card once it's arrived. If your card has not arrived yet, and you need to use it immediately, you can enable online payments in your card’s settings, or set up Google Pay or Apple Pay.
