What are Fedwire transfers and how do they work?

Transferring USD payments via Fedwire is a great way to get access to funds within the same business day (if completed before 3:50 PM EST) or next business day (if completed after 3:50 PM EST).

This transfer method provides a great alternative to ACH payments. However, the same/next-day processing can be costly, which is why Revolut Business charges a flat 10 USD fee on incoming and outgoing transfers sent via Fedwire to all customers despite your plan allowances.

Here are a few things to note:

  • The limit for Fedwire outbound transfers is 50k USD per transfer and 200k USD per day
  • There are no limits for incoming US domestic wires
  • Fedwire transfers are not processed on weekends or holidays
