Applying for a secured credit card
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for a secured credit card with Revolut, you must meet the following requirements:
- You're at least 18 years old (19 in Alabama)
- You have a valid social security number or ITIN
- Live in the US
- You have a regular, sustainable, and verifiable income
- You're a Revolut customer who’s had an active Revolut prepaid card account for at least 30 days
As we're still in the process of launching our secured credit card product in the US, the option to apply may not be available to everyone yet.
How to apply for a credit card
- Go to 'Home' on the bottom menu of your Revolut app
- Below your balance, tap 'Accounts'
- Tap 'Add new', then 'Credit'
- Select 'Secured credit card'
- Complete the short application
Once you submit your application, we'll carry out checks to determine if your request meets our policies. To check your eligibility, we'll do a 'soft pull' on your credit file which won't affect your credit score.
If we need more information, we'll reach out via email. If we need additional documents, you'll be able to submit them in-app. You should get a decision within 5 business days of submitting all requested document(s).
If your secured credit card application is approved
If you're approved, you'll need to finalize the process by:
- Viewing the offer
- Accepting the offer and signing
Your credit bureau report will be reviewed at this time, resulting in a 'hard pull' on your credit. This may impact your credit score. Your virtual card should be available for use right away, and you can choose to have a physical card delivered.
