Cancel my secured credit card

Cancel an ongoing application

In your Revolut app:

  • Go to 'Home' on the bottom menu
  • Below your balance, tap 'Accounts'
  • Select your secured credit card application
  • In the top-left corner, look for the 'X' icon or tap the back arrow until you see it
  • Tap the 'X' icon to close the application

You can't cancel an application that has already been submitted. Once the review is complete, you'll get a notification about the outcome. Once you receive the outcome, if you're approved for the secured credit card but decide not to continue, you'll have the option to cancel it.

Cancel a secured credit card

If you want to cancel your secured credit card, type 'Live agent' in our in-app chat to speak to an agent who can help you. Deleting the credit card from the app will not cancel the agreement.

If you cancel your secured credit card, you’re still liable for the balance on the secured credit card account. Your security deposit may be used to cover your remaining statement balance when canceling the card if you choose.

Before canceling the secured credit card

You must ensure the balance is fully paid. You can do this by paying the credit card balance yourself or by using funds from your security deposit. Any remaining funds from the security deposit will be transferred to your prepaid card account after the credit card is closed.

An example of how it works:

If you owe $100 on the credit card and have a $200 security deposit, you can either: pay the $100 balance and receive the full $200 deposit back in your prepaid card account, or use the $200 deposit to cover the balance and receive the balance ($100) deposited back into your prepaid card account.
