Declined secured credit card application

Common reasons an application may be denied

Secured credit card applications may be declined for several reasons, depending on your individual circumstances, and for reasons in line with Revolut's internal policies. Some common reasons include, but aren't limited to:

  • Your current level of debt
  • Low disposable income
  • Adverse information on your credit history

If you've been denied ‌a Revolut secured credit card, you'll get an adverse action notice via email from us explaining why. You’ll also receive instructions on how to obtain a copy of your credit bureau report, if needed.

Can I reapply if my application was declined?

If your application was declined, we don't recommend applying again unless your circumstances have changed, or the previous information you provided was incorrect. You’ll be eligible to reapply 30 days after your last application.

As we're still in the process of launching our secured credit card product in the US, the option to apply may not be available to everyone yet.
