What’s the cover for cancelled or delayed trips and airport delays?

The following is only a summary of your Revolut travel insurance coverage. To check your full policy in-app:

  1. Go to 'Lifestyle' on the bottom menu
  2. Select 'Insure'
  3. Select 'Travel', choose a coverage type
  4. Tap 'All documents'

Trip delay

If your trip is delayed for at least six hours due to a covered hazard, you'll be covered for up to $300 on reasonable expenses caused by it (such as meals and lodging, virtual office rentals, relaxation room rentals, daily passes to an airline lounge club etc.).

You can be reimbursed for a maximum of 3 days of trip delay expenses per covered person. Additionally, you can receive no more than $3,000 in any 12-month period regardless of the number of trip delay claims made.

Covered hazards include:

  • Mechanical breakdown of the scheduled carrier;
  • Weather related delays;
  • Air traffic control delays;
  • Emergencies at the originating or destination airport, terminal, or station.

Trip cancellation

Trip cancellation reimburses you for a covered trip if an eligible loss prevents you from travelling on or before the departure date, and forces you to cancel prepaid, non-refundable travel arrangements.

Trip interruption

Trip interruption reimburses you for a trip if a loss interrupts it on the way to the point of departure, after departure, or if there's any change to the date and time of pre-scheduled uncanceled travel arrangements.

For both cancelled trips and interrupted trips, you can be reimbursed for a maximum of $5,000 per person per trip, and up to $10,000 for all individuals on the same trip.

You (the cardholder), your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children, are all covered under these benefits if your common carrier tickets have been paid for using your Revolut account. Each insured person is eligible to receive the benefit whether you're travelling with them or not.

Travel insurance is only included in Premium, Metal, and Ultra plans.

If you're eligible for cover, you can raise a claim directly with the insurance provider:

  1. Head to 'Lifestyle' in the bottom menu
  2. Tap 'Insure',
  3. Choose 'Travel', select a type, tap 'Get Help'
  4. Press 'make a Claim'.
