What is Bizum and how do I set it up?
Bizum is a mobile payment service in Spain that enables instant peer-to-peer money transfers through your banking app. Bizum can't be used to send money to recipients outside of Spain and Andorra. The recipient's Bizum account must be linked to a Spanish bank account and they don't need to have a Spanish phone number.
How can I set it up and opt out?
To register for Bizum with Revolut:
- Go to 'Home' on the bottom menu of the Revolut mobile app
- Next to 'Add money', tap the Bizum widget
- Follow the prompts to confirm your information and read through and accept the T&Cs
To opt out of this feature, tap 'Deregister Bizum' and confirm by tapping 'Yes, deregister'.
If you’re already registered with Bizum at another bank, you’ll be prompted to start the portability process to use Bizum with Revolut. If you’re a new Bizum user, you can complete the registration and use Bizum right away.
Most common errors
- Invalid documentation: The phone number was previously registered for Bizum with another entity and the document used for that entity isn’t the same as the one used for registering with Revolut. You’ll need to manually unregister your phone number via the other entity’s app to register it with Revolut
- Wrong code: The OTP code entered isn’t correct. Try again and enter the correct code
