Graduation to the main app
Your child can start the migration to a Revolut personal account, which is accessed using the main Revolut app, once they turn 18. Both you and your child will receive a notification once they become eligible for migration to the main app.
- The migration process must be initiated by your child through their Kids & Teens app. You'll need to make sure your child takes the two steps below for a smooth transition
- Step 1: the teen must have an up-to-date phone number linked to their Kids & Teens account, which will be used to initiate the migration
- Step 2: the Kids & Teens app must be installed on the teen's phone, as this is where they will receive the prompt to migrate their account
Transferring money to the main app
Your child can transfer their existing balance and Pockets from the Kids & Teens account to the new one.
If you'd prefer for them not to transfer any existing money to their new account, you can withdraw it before their 18th birthday.
Kids & Teens account and card
Until your child fully activates the new personal account and transfers the funds from their Kids & Teens account, their Kids & Teens card and account will work as normal. After the transfer, their Kids & Teens account and card will be closed.
Kids & Teens account closure
If the switch isn't made by their 19th birthday, we'll close the Kids & Teens account and return any remaining money to your personal account.
You can read more about the Revolut Kids & Teens account closing process in this FAQ.
