Verifying business ownership details on RBE
Why am I being requested to update my RBE ('Registre des bénéficiaires effectifs') extract?
To meet our regulatory requirements, we verify your business ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs) information provided in the business application with the official RBE extract. UBO is a person or entity that owns or controls a significant portion of the company's shares or voting rights of the company — usually at least 25%, depending on your company, we may ask for a 10% threshold.
If there is missing information or a mismatch, we'll reach out to you to update your RBE with the latest business information and submit an updated RBE extract for UBOs verification.
We check the following fields:
- First name of UBOs
- Surname of UBOs
- Nationality of UBOs
- Date of birth of UBOs
- Place of birth of UBOs
- Nature of the relation of UBOs with business (direct / indirect)
- Number of UBOs, ownership percentage and rights percentage
- Country of residence of UBOs
