Accessibility with Revolut

What is Revolut's overarching commitment to accessibility?

Revolut is dedicated to ensuring that its digital banking services are accessible to all customers, including individuals with disabilities and additional needs. Our objective is to facilitate straightforward financial management and empower independent living through our platforms.

Our approach aligns with the principles of the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) and national legislation, reflecting our responsibility to support accessibility across all digital channels and services.

Which accessibility standards does Revolut adhere to?

Revolut is committed to accessibility, in line with the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) and national laws. We strive to meet and maintain Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards to ensure our digital services are inclusive and accessible to all customers.

Revolut aims for WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance on its website and app. While ensuring this standard is an ongoing process, our platforms largely conform. We're committed to continuous improvement for any non-conformance areas. Our mobile app currently lacks landscape support.

How does Revolut help customers with visual impairments?

Revolut's applications are engineered to be compatible with screen readers. All interactive elements, images, and visual content are programmatically described, enabling screen reader software to effectively convey information to customers with visual impairments.

Screen readers provide an audio interface for users who can’t visually access the screen. Examples include VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android). Revolut apps are designed to work seamlessly with these assistive technologies.

Initial usage of screen readers may require a period of adjustment due to their unique navigation protocols. Should a customer experience persistent difficulties, we recommend reviewing device-specific screen reader tutorials or contacting our support channels for assistance.

How does Revolut support multi-sensory information?

Key information is primarily delivered via text. For non-textual content of significance, such as images, textual alternatives (e.g. 'alt text') are provided. For video content, Revolut is committed to providing captions and transcripts to ensure comprehensive understanding.

Revolut's digital forms feature clear, linked labels. They provide accessible error identification (including screen reader messages) and actionable correction suggestions, enhancing usability for all.
