Receiving paid plan gifts
How to accept a paid plan gift
In the Revolut mobile app:
- Go to 'Payments' on the bottom menu
- Open the chat with your Revolut friend
- In the transaction description, you'll see the details of the gift you've received
- Choose 'Claim' to accept the paid plan gift
To receive paid plan gifts, your 'Show my plan' privacy toggle needs to be activated in your app. You can find this section by tapping your profile icon in the top-left corner → selecting 'Privacy' → scrolling down and enabling the 'Show my plan' toggle.
Once you claim a paid plan gift, it will become effective immediately. You can cancel the paid plan at any time without incurring any fees. However, if you cancel the plan early, your friend who sent you the gift won't receive a refund.
What if I am on a paid plan already?
If you're already on a paid plan, and accept a paid plan gift, we'll refund you the amount of what you had paid (annual or monthly) to compensate for the time you did not spend on the paid plan. We'll then update your account to reflect the paid plan gift.
For example:
If you're currently 7 months into an annual billing period for a Premium plan and your friend sends you a gift for the Metal plan, which you accept, we'll give you a partial refund of the annual plan fees you paid. The refund is proportional to the 5 months you have remaining on your current annual Premium plan.
If you are currently on a paid plan subscription with annual billing and receive a paid plan gift for the same paid plan, we will add an additional year to your existing annual subscription. You will not receive a refund in this scenario.
For example:
You're currently in the 5th month of a 12 month subscription of a Premium paid plan with annual billing. You receive a paid plan gift for an annual Premium paid plan and accept the paid plan gift. We will extend the duration of your annual Premium paid plan subscription by 1 year once your current annual Premium paid plan subscription ends (7 months from now).
