What happens to my subscription once the gifted paid plan duration ends?
Towards the end of the duration of your gifted paid plan, you can choose to stay on the same paid plan by automatically switching to paying the subscription fees for the plan (refer to our Paid Plan Terms, Plan Gifting Terms and Fees page for more information). If you don't opt for this, you'll be moved back to the type of plan you had before accepting the gift.
For example: If you were on the Standard plan and accepted a gift for the Premium plan, once the gifted Premium plan duration ends you'll be notified. You will have to confirm if you opt to pay for the Premium plan and stay on this plan once the gift duration ends. If you don't opt for it, you'll be moved back to the Standard plan.
If you were gifted the same plan that you had previously, and accepted the gift, you'll automatically be switched to the regular billing plan for the type of paid plan you had before you accepted the gift (refer to our Paid Plan Terms, Plan Gifting Terms and Fees page for more information)
For example: If you were on the Premium plan and accepted a gift for another Premium plan, you'll automatically be switched back to a Premium plan once the gift duration expires.
What will happen to the insurance provided with my plan if I do not renew?
As a result of switching to a lower plan type after your gifted plan expires, any insurance that applied to your gifted plan will immediately come to an end, including travel, purchase protection, accidental damage, and cancellation insurance coverage. This depends on the new plan chosen.
Can I re-upgrade?
Yes, you can. However, your insurance benefits, depending on your previous plan, will start as brand new, and you need to be on your plan continuously for your insurance to cover you. This also includes travel insurance, read your insurance terms and conditions to make sure you have valid insurance cover before your next trip.
