Managing monthly loan repayments
Monthly AutoPay repayments
Repayments are debited from your Revolut GBP personal account on the scheduled repayment date using our AutoPay functionality. This is set up automatically when you open your loan.
Make sure your GBP account has sufficient funds before the repayment date, as we debit your account at midnight. If you want to change the date your repayment is taken each month you can do this by changing your repayment date. If you want to discuss stopping AutoPay completely contact us in app.
At the moment, you can’t make your loan repayments by Direct Debit, however our AutoPay functionality will make repayments automatically from your Revolut GBP personal account on the scheduled repayment date each month. You can also set up a back-up card from another bank.
Back-up card
You can set up a backup debit card from another bank so that if your Revolut GBP account balance is too low to cover your whole repayment, we'll top up your account with the difference needed before taking the AutoPay repayment. To set up a back-up card:
- Go to ‘Home’ on the bottom menu
- Below your balance, tap 'Accounts'
- Choose the loan you want to manage
- Tap 'More' or 'Details'
- Choose a back-up card
Not all cards are eligible to be used as a back-up card. You can remove your back-up card at any time.
Repayment date changes
- Go to ‘Home’ on the bottom menu
- Below your balance, tap 'Accounts'
- Choose the loan you want to manage
- Tap 'More'
- Select 'Change day'
- Choose a date between the 1st and 28th. You can't choose a the repayment date that falls on 29th–31st of the month
You can change your repayment date if:
- You don't have any overdue payments
- You haven’t made a change to your repayment date in the current repayment period
- You choose a date in the same calendar month. Only one repayment can be scheduled for each calendar month, and you can’t move your payment to the next or previous month
How does my loan impact my credit file?
Once your loan is open, we’ll report the status of your loan back to the credit reference agencies each month. We share data with TransUnion and Equifax. We currently don’t share data with Experian, but may do so in the future.
Managing your loan responsibly will likely contribute positively to your credit score, but if you miss payments or enter an arrangement, this will negatively impact your credit score.
If you're struggling with your repayments, chat to us as soon as possible so we can discuss your options.
