My top-up failed, but the refund didn’t arrive to sender's account

For the most common reasons for why your card top-up was reverted, please refer here.

Depending on the currency and beneficiary bank, your refund time will vary. There can be various reasons for why there’s a delay. For example, the receiving bank might still be processing the money. Some banks are slower than others, and might take longer to execute the refund.

If you want to speed up the process, you can contact them directly with the card top-up receipt. However, rest assured your money is safe.

Please find average refund processing times below for failed top-ups:

  • European currency top-up (sent to your SWIFT account):

Example: PLN top-up from Polish bank, CHF top-up from Swiss Bank

Refund usually takes around 1-2 working days.

  • EUR top-up (sent to your EUR local account):

Refund usually takes around 1-2 working days.

  • AUD top-ups (to AUD local account):

Refund time can vary, but in the majority of the case's money will be back at the Originator account in less than 10 working days.

  • BGN top-ups:

Refund usually takes between 6-9 working days.

  • RON top-ups (to RON local account):

Refund usually takes around 2-3 working days.

  • SAR top-ups:

Refund usually takes between 1-2 working days.

  • THB top-ups:

Refund usually takes between 4-8 working days.

  • USD top-ups (to USD local account):

Refund usually takes up to 5 working days.

  • USD top-ups (to SWIFT account):

From banks in South America and East Asia:

Refund usually takes around 4-6 working days.

From banks in other countries:

Refund usually takes around 1-2 working days.

Unfortunately, we’re not always able to provide the reason for refund straight away, but once the refund is completed the reason will appear under the transaction in your Revolut app. You will also receive email updates about your failed top-ups.
