Switch your account to Revolut

Our Switch Service helps you easily switch your existing bank account to Revolut while ensuring your payments continue smoothly.

You can opt to move all payments and remaining balances to Revolut, and close your old account, using the current account switching service. Your account is guaranteed to be switched to Revolut within seven days.

Additionally, you can also decide to only move payments from your old account to Revolut, keeping your old account open and existing debit card active.

Which payments are eligible?

  • Incoming payments like your salary, pension, or benefits
  • Direct Debit payments, such as your utility bills
  • Scheduled payments

We won't transfer any bills or subscriptions set up with your old debit card, or any overdraft you may have with your previous provider, over to Revolut.

For full account switches — under the CASS guarantee — we'll transfer your remaining GBP balance to Revolut and close your old account when the switch is complete. Any debit card linked to the old account will be terminated.

How to switch your account to Revolut

  • Provide details of the account you want to switch to Revolut, including the debit card number, and switch starting date

It’ll take us seven working days to validate and execute the switch, and we'll let you know when it's done.

How the switching process works

  • Days 1 to 2: we contact your old bank to start the switch
  • Days 3 to 6: we transfer your payment details. Make sure your new account is ready and funded
  • Day 7 and beyond: your switch is complete. Your balance has been moved, old account has been closed, and payments have been redirected

Direct Debits and scheduled transfers will be set up and come from your Revolut account only from the switching date onwards, but will continue to come out of your old account before the switch date.

Any incoming transfers — like your salary — which arrive in your old account will be redirected to Revolut by the Switch Service or forwarded by the new bank to Revolut. Redirection of funds will happen for three years. Make sure to inform your employer about your new Revolut account details.
