Exceeding my ISA allowance

What happens if I exceed my overall ISA allowance?

If you overcontribute to your ISAs, any excess payments won't qualify for tax relief. The ISA allowance is a total annual limit that applies across all the ISAs you might have, including Stocks and Shares, Cash, Innovative Finance, and Lifetime ISAs.

What should I do if I exceed my ISA allowance?

If you exceed your £20,000 annual ISA allowance, you’ll be contacted by the HMRC in due course. While we have measures in place to help ensure you don't exceed your allowance within your Revolut Stocks and Shares ISA, we don't have visibility into any ISAs you hold with external providers.
