Stocks and Shares ISA rules

ISA rules and contribution limits

A Stocks and Shares ISA is a tax-efficient way to invest in the stock market and other eligible assets, allowing you to earn returns exempt from the UK tax. For the 2025/2026 financial year, you can contribute up to £20,000 across all your ISAs combined.

This means your total ISA allowance applies to all types of ISAs you might have across different providers, including Stocks and Shares, Cash, Innovative Finance, and Lifetime ISAs.

You can choose to invest the full £20,000 in a Stocks and Shares ISA, or divide it between different ISA types based on your financial needs.

How many ISAs can I have?

There's no limit on the number of ISAs you can hold across different providers. However, you can only have one Stocks and Shares ISA with Revolut at a time.
