Why am I asked to take an assessment to start trading crypto?
Due to new regulations for UK customers, to start trading crypto, you’ll need to complete an assessment and customer categorisation.
If we need information from you, you'll see a tile in-app which you can tap and follow the on-screen prompts. You can also access it by using this link.
You may be asked to complete an assessment and customer categorisation:
- For the assessment, you’ll need to answer a few questions about crypto and pass it before you can start trading;
- Customer categorisation is a declaration you’ll need to complete to confirm you’ll invest responsibly.
We’ll let you know how many attempts you get to pass the assessment in-app. If you fail all attempts, you’ll be given a cool-down period before you can attempt the assessment again. Once you pass it, you’ll need to wait 24 hours before you can start trading crypto.
If you choose not to submit the information, our Crypto service will be limited and you won't be able to buy crypto in-app.
