What insured reasons are eligible for Ultra trip and event cancellation protection?

Ultra trip and event cancellation protection offers cover for 100% of your non-refundable costs if you have to cancel a trip purchased with your Revolut account for any of the reasons below. The reasons below are just a summary. For full details, see the policy wording. 

Health reasons

  • Death, serious injury, or sickness of you, your trip companion, or family member 
  • Quarantine due to an epidemic or pandemic before your trip for you or your trip companion
  • From a medical perspective, you or your travel companion are not allowed to receive the required immunisations for the trip

Residential and employment reasons

  • Termination of your employment, or your trip companion’s employment, subject to certain conditions
  • A new permanent paid job is accepted and requires you or your trip companion to attend, preventing you from travelling  
  • Relocation of you, your spouse, or your trip companion by at least 150 km due to a business reason
  • You or your trip companion are called in for duty due to an accident or emergency to provide help or relief as a first responder on the trip's date
  • Serious damage to your primary residence, within 10 days prior to your trip or event

Military duty, legal, or adoption reasons

  • Army reassignment or change of military personal leave status if you, your trip companion, or a family member are in the army
  • Attendance of an adoption is required for you or your trip companion

Travel-related reasons

  • Your travel carrier can’t bring you to your planned destination for at least 24 consecutive hours after your original scheduled arrival time due to natural disaster 
  • You, or your travelling companion’s, documentation has been stolen, preventing you from travelling 
  • You or your travelling companion were in a traffic accident on the departure date

Key exclusions

  • If you knew about a serious illness or injury when you booked the trip, and it could have led to cancelling, it won’t be covered 
  • Injuries or illnesses that didn’t need treatment from a certified doctor aren’t covered
  • Business trip cancellations aren't covered
  • Any loss or issue you knew about or expected when booking the trip, or before getting the Revolut card or Ultra plan, isn’t covered
