How do I close my account?

Thinking of leaving? Downgrade to our Standard plan instead and keep your account — you'll still enjoy many features, with no monthly plan fees. If you're still sure you'd like to close your account, we'll guide you through the process.

Closure requirements

You'll need to meet the following criteria:

  • You have the latest version of the Revolut app installed
  • All your currency accounts have a balance of zero
  • You've sold your commodities
  • You've downgraded your plan to Standard
  • You have no pending transactions or active subscriptions
  • You have no open chargeback requests

If you meet all the above requirements, you'll be able to close your Revolut account in-app:

  • Tap your profile icon in the top-left corner
  • Select 'Account'
  • Tap 'Close account'

Download and keep any statements you may need for future reference. We'll send you a confirmation of the closure once you've completed the process.

Balance is too low for an outbound transfer to clear my account

Here are some things you can do:

  • Top up your account to meet the minimum amount required for outbound transfers
  • Transfer the remaining funds to a Revolut friend via an internal transfer
  • To help you look for alternatives, request live support by typing 'Live agent' in the chat
