How to check why your transfer was reverted:
- From your 'Home' screen, go to your transactions list
- Tap on the reverted transfer
- Choose 'Get help' at the bottom of the screen for specific troubleshooting steps
When will I receive the reverted funds?
Currently, in Japan, you can receive funds only from local banks.
If the reverted funds were a local bank transfer, depending on your sender bank's terms and conditions, you will need to go through a recall procedure called 'kumimodoshi' in order to have the funds returned. Once initiated, the process should take up to 5 business days.
Once a transfer has been reverted, we're unable to reassign it to the recipient account, nor can we expedite the return process. If your reverted transfers exceeded the timeframe, reach out to Revolut Support in order to get a return confirmation, which will help the sending bank locate the funds.
Common reasons for transfers being reverted:
Account restrictions:
- Check your registered email address for any communication from us asking for documentation or additional information
- Follow the instructions provided in the email to resolve the issue
Incorrect account details:
Confirm that you have used the accurate account details. To ensure your bank transfer is successful, the beneficiary name should be Revolut (as displayed in the bank details) and account number without a mistake. For more details, check out this blog post.
Amount over the limit:
Currently, we can receive up to 1 million yen per transfer. To receive more than that, divide the amount into smaller transfers
Unsupported country/currency:
Currently, when it comes to external banks, you can receive transfers only from local Japanese banks in Japanese yen.
