Close a stock position
If you want to close your entire stock position in a particular stock, you must submit a quantity-based order rather than a price-based order.
For example, if you have 0.482 units of XYZ (worth $79 in current market value) in your investment account, you can only choose to sell 0.482 units to sell all of it.
Close the position
In your Revolut app:
- Go to 'Invest' on the bottom menu
- Under 'Portfolio', tap the stock related to the position you want to close
- Tap 'Sell'
- Submit a quantity-based order on the XYZ cell — you can either manually enter 0.482 or select 'Sell all XYZ' to automatically fill in the maximum quantity you can sell
- Tap 'Sell XYZ' to submit your order
If you use the USD cell to enter the current market value of $79, this will submit a price-based order. Due to fluctuating prices, price-based orders won't guarantee that your entire stock holding will be sold.
Withdrawing money to your current Revolut account is only possible once the trade has settled. To learn more about the withdrawal process, check out this FAQ in our Help Centre.
