Who is covered by travel insurance?
To be covered by Revolut travel insurance, you must have a Premium, Metal, or Ultra plan and meet the following requirements:
- You're a resident of the EEA
- You're at least 18 years of age
- Your primary residence matches the address on your Revolut account and your trip starts and ends at your primary residence. Read more about why this is important on this page
- Your journey meets the definition of a trip
- Your trip is for leisure. Business trips are only covered under the Ultra plan
- Your trip was paid for with your Revolut account. Read more on this page
Are kids covered?
If you and your trip meet the eligibility requirements for cover, your children (including fostered, adopted, and step-children) are also covered by the travel insurance, so long as they're:
- Under 18 years of age at the time of travel
- Travelling with you
- Unmarried
Are travelling companions covered?
If you have a Premium plan, cover is limited to you and your kids. If you have a Metal or Ultra plan, your spouse or cohabitant is also included if you and your trip meet the eligibility requirements for cover and so long as they're:
- A spouse by marriage, domestic partnership, or civil union
- Living with you for at least 12 consecutive months prior to travel and at least 18 years of age
- Travelling with you
To confirm your eligibility, the insurance provider may ask for proof that you and your partner or cohabitant live together when you make a claim. This could include a utility bill or an official letter from a government agency or bank.
How to check your coverage
This is only a summary of your coverage. Revolut travel insurance is provided through XCover, not Revolut itself. XCover is responsible for policy terms, conditions, and claim handling.
