Ukraine card top-up limits

Why are there new restrictions?

Changes to Visa rules on 30th September 2024 mean that the movement of money from one account to another through a card (adding money / topping up your Revolut account by card) is now going to be classified differently.

What does this mean?

Previously, card top-up attempts from Ukraine were exempt from the monthly limit in Ukraine of ₴100,000.

The change of this classification means that card top-ups to Revolut accounts now count towards this monthly limit.

This monthly limit is enforced by your card issuer and all money transfers from your bank account count towards the limit. Please check with your card issuer to see what transactions your limit applies to.

What is Revolut doing to fix this?

Ultimately, this is a restriction that is mandated by Visa and Revolut must adhere to this new rule.

This restriction is currently isolated to Visa, so top-ups using a Mastercard card should still work as before.

Will there be other impacts?

There are a small number of card issuers that aren't prepared to accept money movement transactions. We are working with ‌Visa to ensure that high standards are maintained across all card issuers.

Does this impact other top-up methods?

This does not impact other methods of topping up your Revolut account.

You can try topping up using a card issued on the Mastercard network or using an alternative deposit method.
