How does my driving data impact my policy?
The data collected by your Smart Driving device can impact your policy in the following ways.
Your policy may be cancelled if:
- You fail to activate your device within 14 days from the policy start date
- You fail to reactivate your device within 14 days from the date of reorder when it's reissued
- Your device has been tampered with
- Your device registers a speed of over 160 km/h on a public road
- You engage in dangerous driving behaviour
If the policy is cancelled, this may affect your ability to get car insurance cover elsewhere in the market.
What is dangerous driving behaviour?
Dangerous driving behaviours include dangerous speeding, braking, acceleration, cornering, or lateral movements. These are only examples of dangerous driving behaviour, and don't represent an exhaustive list.
If you engage in dangerous driving behaviour, your policy may be cancelled. For example, if your device registers a speed of over 160 km/h on a public road, your policy will be cancelled.
