Cards and contactless payments with Revolut Terminal
To use Revolut Terminal, you must have an active Merchant account, have completed identity verification, and have the necessary account permissions. You can accept payments via the following methods:
- Mastercard and Visa card payments
- Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay
- Chip and PIN, contactless payments, and Revolut Pay
Revolut Terminal supports the following currencies: AUD, CAD, CHF, DKK, EUR, GBP, HKD, HUF, ILS, JPY, NOK, NZD, PLN, RON, SEK, THB, TRY, USD, ZAR. The terminal has a single transaction limit of 20,000 GBP (or currency equivalent).
Creating a request with the Revolut Terminal
To request a payment on your device:
- Go to the 'Checkout' tab
- Insert the amount or select a product from the catalogue
- Select 'Charge'
When the payment has been authorised, you'll see a confirmation message on the terminal. You'll also see an option on the confirmation screen to print or get a digital version of the receipt.
To make a transaction in another currency with the terminal
- Go to the 'Checkout' tab
- Select the arrow next to the amount and select the currency
- Insert the amount
- Select 'Charge'
Cart on the terminal cannot consist of items in different currencies - if mulitple products are added they have to be in the same currency.
Checking the status of the transaction
The transaction status will appear on the terminal. You'll see a message saying 'Successful' or 'Declined'.
The device will also make a noise depending on the transaction status.
Once you've processed a payment via the terminal
Funds will appear in your Merchant account after the payment is settled. To find out more about settlement times, read this FAQ. To access the money, go to 'Merchant' on the main menu, click 'View payouts', click 'Payout', and transfer funds to your Business account.
